Sara Sutherland

I am a lecturer on the faculty at the Sanford School of Public Policy at Duke University. I am also a faculty affiliate at the Center for Environmental and Resource Economic Policy at NC State, co-organizer of the Triangle Resource and Environmental Economics (TREE) Seminar, and a Senior Research Fellow at the Property and Environment Research Center.
I teach Microeconomic Policy Tools and Public Sector Economics at the undergraduate and graduate level. I am also a co-PI on grants funded by the North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality and the Division of Marine Fisheries.
I conduct research on the political economy of natural resource policy and regional economics. My focus has been on the economics of communities reliant on fisheries, water resources, and national parks and forests.
