I am a Detroit native and a Michigan State alum.* I was originally on a pre-med/psychology path, but had a change of plans after a study-abroad trip to Madagascar during the summer of my junior year of college.
I've always been interested in human behavior, but my trip gave me a new appreciation for the importance of aligning incentives when designing policy. I witnessed environmental degradation and resource depletion on a massive scale, as well as conservation efforts. I am very grateful for this experience that so directly exposed me to the tradeoff between resource conservation and livelihoods.
